How it all started...
The Baptist congregation was established in the Town of Selma in 1872. Their first pastor, Dr. W.M. Wingate, was President of Wake Forest College and oversaw the construction of their first church building in 1875. The building was eventually sold and the congregation built a new building in the late 90s. Construction was completed on the current campus in the early 2000s. The church has had a healthy presence in the community for decades and is seeing revitalization since pastor Todd Daniels was called to serve as senior pastor in January, 2019.
Expanding the vision...
The current campus has an additional 22 acres of undeveloped land. With the town of Selma experiencing revitalization in new growth and opportunities, we trust the Lord has plans for us as we seek to be good stewards of what He has given to us.
Where we are headed...
As we continue to reach and baptize more believers, we are excited about the future of Selma Baptist Church. We hope you and your family will come and get involved. Together we are making an impact in the lives of people for the glory of God.
